Why do you think that the sales of smartphones and tablets are ahead of laptops and desktop PCs?
Now, that might be somewhat difficult to answer. I speculate that the manner in which smartphones and tablets were marketed may have a thing or two to do with the rise in sales of those electronic items.
In spite of the popularity of the smartphones and of the tablets, I am more comfortable using a laptop and from experience, I have realised that the desktop PC is more reliable; it does what it was advertised to do and it always gets the job done.
An important factor to consider is that the average person is usually busy and smartphones and tablets allows them to have internet access on the go (A person can also use a laptop on the go, but their downfall is that the majority of them are a little too heavy to carry around and the battery life is usually poor; which leaves the user no choice of plugging it in at an electrical outlet).
Also, the reason for the popularity of the smartphones and the tablets is that they are considered the In Thing.
