The funny thing is that experts don’t always agree and as a result of this, they will tell you different things (So, it is always up to us to decide whether or not to accept their advice).
The irony is: there are blogs that seem to get its fair share of recognition with the aid of social networks and there are those that do well without it.
However, if you have been blogging for quite a while and you have managed to build a loyal audience, there is a great chance that the true merit goes out to the blogging community (yourself included) and not necessarily those hyped up social networks.
This is my personal experience: since my Facebook account was temporarily suspended due to phishing, I had no access to it; therefore, I was unable to use it as a means of promoting my blog.
Sometime last month, I deleted my Google Plus account (So, that was another social network gone; it was one that I used in the past to assist in the promotion of my blog).
The only social network that I use is, Twitter.
Now, here is the mind-blowing part: my Stats went up and according to Alexa, I had a higher global rank.
At first, I thought my blog would have suffered greatly by not being able to promote it on Facebook.
In regard’s to Google Plus, I believed that I was wasting time there and the only people who were benefiting was Google.
I stopped promoting my blogs on Facebook and Google Plus and I saw an improvement; one which I am still baffled by.
As a gentle reminder, this is merely my experience; it may differ from yours.
I would LOVE to hear your opinion regarding this issue.
