I have noticed that there are a lot of bloggers on WordPress who did not set up an About page for their blog.
Although the idea of setting up an About page may appear to be quite intimidating to some, it is an important aspect of one’s blog.
One’s readers and first time visitors can get an idea as to what your blog is based on; hence the importance of an About page.
Your About page is about, “You.” The whole idea of creating it, is so that people can have a better idea as to who you are and what your blog is about.
The information that you choose to put on your About page is entirely up to you; after all, it is your About page. You can go into full detail about yourself, or you can keep it short and simple.
I am of the opinion that an About page shouldn’t be taken for granted, because it has the potential to create a close connection between the reader and the owner of the blog.

About page is what I head to first when visiting a new blog, it determines if I follow or not.
[ Chuckles ] A very smart move, Alex.
I agree with Alex..what is, or is not, included in the about page is your ‘first impression’.
[ Smiles ] Thanks for your input and I am sure that Alex would agree with you.
Thank you for your participation!
I always look for the about page to know what the blog will be about
[ Smiles ] Lovely! And I am sure that there are a lot of people who do the same.
Thank you for sharing your point of view.
When I was doing my blog last year, before I started getting visits, my About page said “nothing to say” but now it says something
[ Giggles ] Great!
I agree. I always look for an “About Page” when going to a new blog. Thank you.
[ Smiles ] You are most welcome.
I take my about page very seriously…i love my about page…just loveeeeeeeee it….you siad a very important thing
[ Smiles ] Yes, I did!
Thank you for your input.
I agree with you wholeheartedly on the potential importance of an about page. Often it is the deciding factor that causes me to choose to follow a new blog. I don’t have to agree with a blogger’s world view – but if they have a respectful attitude I’ll follow so that I can understand their perspective better. To live is to learn.

[ Smiles ] Wendy, I would like to thank you for sharing your perspective.
