From the looks of things, Google enjoys buying companies and software. In the past, they purchased, Blogger, Youtube and the most famous of them all, Android.
So, what would you do if the owner or owners of WordPress decided to put it up for sale and Google bought it? Would you still choose to blog on WordPress? I personally know a few people who would sever their ties with WordPress if it were to fall into the hands of Google.
There are a lot of people who have a dislike for Google because they believe that Google has the habit of giving out people’s personal information to marketers.
Luckily for us WordPress bloggers, I have a very strong feeling that the owner or owners of WordPress will never sell their blogging-site to Google.
I like things just the way they are and WordPress seems to be doing a wonderful job on their own.

Google is a great search engine, I like no other search engine but I like Word Press like it is, google free.

I wouldn’t touch Google with a ten foot pole seeing as how it works for the NSA! If Word Press were to sell out I’d be long gone! I don’t do business with the Government. Maybe one day when the corruption and control are gone I might consider it. To use Google is to dance with the devil!!! VK

Google would destroy the ethos of the WordPress community in tying it to their corporate model.
