Just Pondering Part 318

BirdHave you ever wondered what goes through the mind of a bird while he or she is sitting on your fence? While some of you may not really entertain such a thought, I took the liberty to imagine the thoughts of the feathered creature.

Now, it is somewhat difficult to fathom what is going through their mind since birds would obviously have different interests than us human beings.

However, I would like to think that they see us as peculiar and quite entertaining; I said that because we human beings (or at least some of us) are in the habit of speeding and not taking the time to notice the beauty that is around us.

Birds however, are mostly around beauty; Nature is filled with it. I would want to believe that they appreciate all the free food that Nature provides for them on a regular basis.

While you and I may buy various types of fruits at the supermarket (or better yet, the farmers’ market), these birds probably wonder why we would purchase these items; especially when they are readily available in Nature.

They probably wonder why we spend so much time inside our houses instead of adoring Nature, soaking up the sunshine and exploring the various types of flora and fauna.

Or, they pity us for not exploring and seeing new places; the bird does this on a regular basis, but we human beings only do it in our spare time or whenever we are on our vacation.

Also, the bird lives in the moment; while in the mental sense of things, many human beings are either stuck in the past or living in the future.

  1. They always have a message, and if you are totally still… you will hear what they are trying to tell you, and the key is not to let your mind talk you out of what you hear. :)

  2. Have no fear Renard…We humans are about to grow wings and fly high to our freedom. Have patience, for the cage door is about to open very soon. The foundation of the new world has been set and the new structure is now being built. We are almost home!!! VK

  4. Hi Renard — great post. I always wonder what any animal, bird or plant is thinking. And I often humanize them and make stuff up. Because dear Tomas is with me, he has brought birds into my life. He feeds them all year long, so right outside our kitchen, dining room and living room, there are bird feeders of various kinds. In the early morning, when I first look out the kitchen window, I find our favorite blue jay (JJ) looking in at ME. I KNOW what he’s thinking at that hour. “Where’s the bird seed?!” There are so many kinds at our feeders. Tomas knows them all. I tag along. He helps me see them in all their variety and uniqueness. And I wonder always what they think or even IF they think. Thanks for writing this one, Alia

  5. The beauty of all animals apart from humans and a few other exceptions is they are all living in the moment. It is interesting to attempt to see as an animal does, one that has no sense of “I” or inner or outer.
