Just Pondering Part 306

shokunin_modern_touch_phone_mobile.pngThese days, I see a lot of children with cell phones. Recently, I heard a mother reminding her daughter to carry her cell phone. Wow, these are interesting times.

In my schooldays, owning a cell phone as a child was totally unheard of.

Having a mobile phone can have its advantages and disadvantages. One of the advantages being: a child can keep in touch with their parents and vice versa.

However, one of the disadvantages are the effects that it has on a developing brain. There are many scientists who believe that young children should not be subjected to the radiation that is emitted by mobile phones.

Are parents unknowingly putting their children at risk for brain cancer?

There is a school of thought that would agree that a lot of research should be done before placing a cell phone in a child’s care.

So far, I have read mixed scientific views pertaining to this subject. Some scientists have blamed the earlier models of cell phones; they claimed that it was a fairly new technology at the time and certain models were guilty of emitting dangerous levels of radiation.

They also believe that these modern batch of cell phones are much safer than their predecessors and all cell phones go through rigorous testing to make sure that they are safe for people to use.

Although the scientific evidence is quite sketchy, I would urge parents to think about health risks before giving their young children mobile phones.

  1. They should not be used extensively or help to your ear. Children I suppose with restricted limited use. When I was a kid a cel phone was science fiction.

  2. I think the advantages of a child having a phone outweigh the health risks. If a child is in trouble they have a tool to get assistance by.

  3. Don’t feel bad… when I was a kid they didn’t even have cell phones…LOL…. but you’re right, so many parent’s worry about their kids because they are home alone or going to a party that could turn out badly… It’s the fear that makes them give in and get the kids one… which they just think is “cool”
