How do you feel about the young Christian that hands you a pamphlet about Jesus and then tries to arrange a time to lecture to you in your free-time? Now, I certainly have nothing against Christianity and I don’t hate Jesus. However, I am not too keen on the idea of someone trying to manipulate my free-time; as a matter of fact, it should be spent doing what I want and not how other people think that I should spend it.
It is amazing to see the way in which these young Christians handout their pamphlets. They do not approach everyone on the street; it is as though they are doing profiling. They probably say to themselves, “This one appears to be decent; they don’t look like the type of person who would cuss me if I approach them and hand them a pamphlet.”
So far, all the Christians I have encountered, do not believe in the same thing; their spiritual beliefs vary according to which sect of Christianity that they belong to.
Also, those modern-day Christians can be quite demanding. You show up at one of their Sunday church services and for some reason, they expect to see you every Sunday.
Maybe, I should smile a little less (Which would be hard to do), and dress like a mercenary and those young Christians would think twice about handing me those pamphlets of theirs.
Thanks for checking out my blog. What you just wrote about is something I’ve been wanting to blog about. There’s so much to be said. I look forward to reading more on your page.
[ Smiles ] Thank you!
“Bible bashers” are a pain. They don’t understand that everyone is entitled to their own opinions. I prefer people like the vicar where I used to live. At the time I was agnostic, and my son was going to Sunday School every week. The Father knew my beliefs but allowed me to help him out. Even so much that we would have chats about what I believed and why I was agnostic. He wouldn’t try and adjust me, all he would say was “when the time is right, you will see”
[ Smiles ] Your input is appreciated.
At least, your experience was a nice one!
Yes it was
Haha…I can find that sort of exchange entertaining, especially if I am in a mischievous mood. I having been living in the South, a place which is known as the Bible Belt for the last couple of years, moving west again in a couple of weeks….anyway when I first moved here an older lady rang the door bell, and had a pamphlet to her church. I told her my brother and sister in law went to a different Baptist church but that I would give them the pamphlet. She said what about you? I said, “Oh I”m not a Christian.” I thought she was going to have a heart attack right there. Was it correct for me to be honest? If I would have lied and said thank you I will look at it.
I was raised a Christian, I have just widened my parameters.
Peace & Love,
Sindy
[ Smiles ] In your case, honesty was the best policy.
LOVE and Light to you!
Keep smiling when walking the streets. No one and nothing should make you change that.
[ Smiles ] Okay, I will continue to smile as I walk the street.
They stopped coming to my house! I told them my God isn’t in a church, my God is in everything around us and to think otherwise is to diminish him. They had no reply to that and my house must have gone on the “do not return” list
oh well. VK
[ Laughs ] I believe the same thing also, but I never had the nerve to tell them.
Thank you for your input.
These religious salesmen when I test them often fall short on the knowledge about their own religion.
[ Laughs ] Yes, Alex. That is often the case with those people.
