Many of us would expect people to become wiser with age; but in some cases, this is seldom the case. We may catch a glimpse of senior citizens behaving themselves in an immature manner; an example of this would be a sixty year-old person holding a grudge against their neighbour and they having strong feelings of hatred towards them whenever their neighbour’s name comes up.
The more time spent on Earth should be an opportunity for an individual to grow spiritually and one shouldn’t be troubled by the petty things in life like when they were a teenager.
To display or to have feelings of animosity towards a fellow human being is a sign of spiritual immaturity and those who are what society refer to as being a senior citizen should be blessed with the wisdom to know better.
So, it is always a good idea to work on oneself; by learning to LOVE ourselves and others, we are doing our part of paving peace and harmony; a proverbial road that we would like others to traverse upon and if we were to start this at a very young age, you can just imagine how blissful we will be when we ourselves fall into the category of senior citizens.
Besides, a cantankerous senior citizen is in no way setting a positive example for the younger generation — a generation that is so deeply in need of positive guidance.
