The Commenting Issue

Comment IconWhat runs through your mind when someone doesn’t respond to your comment that you made on their blog? In my case, I may think that my comment ended up in their spam folder. Or, that they are new to blogging and they are not quite savvy where blogging protocol is concerned.

Many bloggers find it rather annoying when they comment on someone’s blog and the administrator of that particular blog refuses to reciprocate.

In reality, not every blogger will respond rapidly to your comment. If I am on the smartphone or the PC, I will make it my priority to respond immediately. However, like many of you, I am not always around a smartphone or a PC; I might be working, socializing, eating or sleeping; which means that there would be a time-delay in responding to your comment.

I like people to respond to my comments whenever I make them on their blogs (And I would like to think that you are the same); hence, it is only fair to respond to the comments that was made on my blog.

Comments without a doubt, leads to intellectual discourse; people can learn a lot by engaging in this process.

So, don’t be shy when it comes to commenting on my blog. I don’t bite and I will not verbally abuse you!

  1. Thank you for stoppiing by my blog Renard. I couldn’t agree with you more. I don’t always comment, sometimes I simply like. However, if I do put forth the effort, it is because the post has intrigued me enough to share my own thoughts or to send positive feedback to the efforts of the author. In this case, I’d like to say I have pursued your blog and like the diversity very much; it’s engaging and has a nice variety–ah the spice of life. I also like the tone of your writing. I will endeavor to read more. Oh, and if I “follow” a blog, that means I will at least visit because I actually WILL visit, not because I want a follow in return [chuckle, heheh, lol, tongue in cheek, etc].

    • [ Smiles ] Thanks for your input.

I usually bookmark the blogs of those who impress me and I only “Follow” those who post on a regular basis.

However, it shouldn’t hurt to follow your blog.

  2. May I add that you might have left the blogger speechless. Just trying to be funny. I wrote something similar a few hours ago though it was in an eulogy.
But I crave comments especially those that will make me think deeper… a little more than ‘good post’, which really is what this comment is now amounting to.

  3. I just had an experience, this week, where my comments were ending up in the spam box. I found out by posting a new comment on my husband’s blog and sure enough he found it in the spam. It has been fixed; but that experience taught me how much I value being able to comment and reply to comments. I had no idea that blogging would be so much fun. I often don’t get to reply to comments for a few hours since I don’t use any tech stuff except my laptop and I limit my time on it so I can get done what I need to each day with my family. Thanks for inviting us to comment. :)

    Blessings ~ Wendy

    • [ Smiles ] Hi, Wendy. Thank you for sharing your experience.

I am happy to know that you rectified the situation in regards to commenting and you are more than welcome to comment on any of my posts.

      LOVE and Light you!

  4. Blogging is a conversation so comments should be replied to. It is annoying to not be replied to. You are a fine example of how a blogger should treat those who comment by replying to most comments. Well done.
